New TVs and Digital Radios for The Beacon following generous donation

The new TVs and digital radios are replacing old, outdated equipment and will provide better entertainment options for residents, who are at The Beacon for rehabilitation and re-enablement after a stay in hospital.

Helen Leary, Unit Manager at The Beacon, said: “We’re really pleased with the new equipment and are grateful for the donations received by previous service users and their families to the Charitable Trust that enable us to purchase items such as these.

“We hold ‘movie nights’ within the Beacon and provide ice cream / popcorn and a movie for individuals to watch together. At present, this can only be offered in one lounge, which limits numbers and also increases the risk to service users who are unfamiliar with that lounge by increasing risk of falls and confusion. A larger TV screen in each room will benefit all service users who will partake in this, and other, activities.”

Neil Cartwright, Trustee of the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust, said: “We are so pleased to have been able to turn this application around quickly for the benefit of our service users”.
