NE Lincs Community Friends awarded funds to deliver photography courses

NE Lincs Community Friends has been awarded £1,960 from the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust, to set up a project that will teach photography to local residents in the community.

The photography course will run over a six-week period, comprising four hours per session and will have space for five families per session. In its entirety, the project will benefit up to 30 families from across the locality.

The funds will go towards paying for tuition fees, entry fees in to Nunny Farm, photography paper, ink, and mounts, as well two new bridge cameras, adding to NE Lincs Community Friends current stock of cameras. The Community Hub Shop at Centre4 has donated the use of a room for the duration of the project for indoor tuition elements.

John Stockton from NE Lincs Community Friends, said: “Thank you to the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust for awarding us the funds needed to run our photography project in the local community. Since the national lockdowns have been lifted and we have eased back into some normality, we wanted to bring the community back together to engage in a project that is fun for all the family.

“Through working with Nunny Farm and the Community Hub Shop at Centre4 we can offer a basic photography tuition programme to local families teaching them how to capture those joyous moments on camera alongside the animals at Nunny Farm. Each family taking part in the project will also get to take home photographs from their day as a lovely memento.”

Neil Cartwright, Trustee of Care Plus Group Charitable Trust, said: “As a charity we exist to support individuals or groups with funds or equipment that will benefit the health and wellbeing of community members across North East Lincolnshire. It’s great to see NE Lincs Community Friends take advantage of the funds available to make a difference to the lives of members across the local community.”

Since its inception, the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust has provided more than £93,000 to over 90 community projects across North East Lincolnshire.
