Environmental Project to Educate Grimsby Kids on River Pollution

CPG Charitable Trust has recently made a donation of £2000 for a project that James Elliott from All Things Good and Nice is carrying out to educate children about the River Freshney and the local environment.

The funds will be used for a series of nature walks and talks, including a nature “i-spy” in which the children will forage and observe. They will learn about nature, the ecosystem and the impact of litter and waste on our rivers.

When asked about this funding, Canoe River Cleaner and Project Manager, James Elliot said:

“This will mean the return of my children's nature walk and talks along our beautiful river.
“Highlighting the importance of our watercourse, and the rich biodiversity within it is very important, plus spending time with nature is extremely beneficial for good mental health.
“Funding such as this will serve to make the activities inclusive and will open the activity up to a greater number of participants.
“It will also enable me to provide refreshments and a memento of the day. Thank you once again Care Plus Group Charitable Trust.”
